Study helps
We have been having a conversation concerning the use of study helps around our church..
When you all study the word, do you study just the bible alone, or do you use other tools ....such as commentaries, bible dictionaries, other bible versions, Strongs???
Just curious!!!
Thanks!!

Use all the helps you mentioned above, Jilian.
There ar some here who get all riled if you mention hebrew or greek, saying if you can't read it why use it.
The original texts and earliset manuscripts were in those languagess.
It IMPERATIVE to understand what the original language conveyed to the people'a nd culture it was addressed to.

Thank you Bro Scott.. I do use different tools. I love e-sword.
What I am wanting to know, is if the majority of people use other tools along with their bibles to study???
I am certain they do, but I would like to see.. That is why a poll would be good. Yes or No.. I don't know how to make one.

Something that is of recent vintage I recommend is The Essential Bible Companion by Zondervan.I find it helpful. Also the theological dictionary by J.R.Ensey is a wonderful tool.

Scroll to the bottom of the page where you create new thread and their is an option to post a poll.
On a thread allready created, I'm not sure if you could use edit and go back and add a poll.
