Voting Based on Personal Appeal & Likability

There is no question our President his a lot of charm and carries himself in a very appealing way. On the surface, to many, he is easy to like.

But what we are seeing in the first six months of this administration is the folly of voting in such a way. It was obvious to many that the campaign promises of Senator Obama were not tenable. How do you socialize medicine and give 95% of Americans a tax cut? How do create Green Jobs? How do you spend your life surrounded by extreme liberals but claim to be mainstream?

I understand the Bush administration had made plenty of mistakes. I routinely criticized them accordingly. McCain didn't always run the best campaign and I was disappointed in his inability to take Obama to task or the national media for their biased reporting. Even with these misgivings, many of us felt it was apparent that between the two choices, Senator Obama was far too risky to vote for in spite of his appeal and likability. I guess I'm trying to say nicely, "We told you so." In 2010 and 2012, let us all endeavor to really look and listen to the issues, look at a candidate's track record and history and avoid voting on the basis of image and packaging.

Instead of "Hope You Can Believe In" it looks more like "Revolution You Have to Pay For".
