I Wuz Robbed!!

No kidding.
After a great service last night our family decided to go to McDonalds drive thru
(Felicity's Church has one right across the street) as we were hungry.

I presented my debit card for purchase and it came up that my withdrawl limit was exceeded for that day.
I thought that is strange, I have a thousand dollar limit per day.

We drove to another bank machine, same message.
I finally went to another bank where we had some money got the cash.
Went to McDonalds and came home and ate.

Afterwards I went online to check my transactions.
There was a whole lot of withdrawls at other banks that cleaned me out, then there was a few thousand dollars deposited which I didn't do.

The bank security staff noticed all of the unusual activity and cut off my limit.

I called the bank and they said I will have to see my branch on Monday.

Oh brother.

Please pray that this can be setttled quick.

Thanks.

God Bless!

Ron

I wonder how someone can withdraw directly from your back account at a bank and also deposit without having the card physically and the pin number.....it's one thing for someone to have your card number and make a purchase online, but this is really weird.

Make sure your mailing address was not changed too

With there being deposits too it sounds like a bank error maybe.

Maybe they can credit the debits and you can keep the deposits - LOL!!!!!!

Ron,

Last summer I stupidly did not call my bank before leavng on my trip to France, England and Scotland. I had enough cash to last me until I got to Scotland but once there I wanted to go to the ATM and get out enough money for food for the rest of the trip, incidentals, etc. My ATM would not work over two days and when I finally was able to contact BOA customer service I was told that my VISA check card had been compromised and I could no longer use it!!!! Thankfully my wifes was still ok and once I let them know that we were indeed overseas they allowed hers to be used.

You no longer have to worry about anyone jus stealing your actual credit card as they can duplicate them if they have all of the numbers including your security code on the back.

A few years ago my wife was in Los Angeles with a record company's corporate American Express card for expenses. She went to use it one day and it was declined. When the clerk called AE it turns out someone with a fake duplicate card had already bought a $25,000 piece of jewelry on it in Beverly Hills and it was only discovered when they attempted to buy another similarly priced piece of jewelry at another store and the clerk insisted on seeing picture ID.

Now how someone could be smart enough to duplicate an AE card but not smart enough to make a matching ID I can't figure out!!

The speculation was that a waiter at some restaurnat was in on the ring and would not only copy down the account numbers and expiration date but that all important security code on the back then the gang would make fake ones.

There is a ring that is very sophisticated.
What they do is go to a Bank ATM (usually at night) attach a card reader to the
door where you swipe your ATM to gain access.
They then install a tiny pinhole camera to look down at the pin pad (it is virtually undetectable) they then go and make copies of your card, and with the requisite pin number from the video-voila!

I have to get a new account and bank card.

Thank goodness those ATMS have cameras from the bank on them.
