Old news. Yeah, his claim is they were Syrian rebel fighters, not iSIS/iSIL.
Exactly why I was against obama arming the so-called rebels, you can't tell them apart. Plus, these rebels sold one of the beheaded reporters to iSIS/iSIL.

Re: McCain and Isis
me neither--but McC is famous for gaffes of this type. In his defense, he prolly shakes a lot of hands, and field-vetting is tough; essentially trusting someone else's vetting that has been vetted as an enemy of your enemy. Not buying it, but would like to hear his side.

Re: McCain and Isis
I don't want to hear McCain's side. I appreciate his military service, but he doesn't have much credibility with me.

Did you read the story? I don't doubt it.
Quote:
When McCain was cheerleading for the US attack on Libya, Belhadj was among those he promoted as offering the promise of a democratic Libyan future. But Belhadj was at the time a founder of the "Libya Dawn," which was a group of Islamic militia forces tied to al-Qaeda in Libya. Did Senator McCain overlook his Libyan friend's ties with al-Qaeda in his zeal to see Gaddafi overthrown or did he simply not know about it?
|
He was one of those "enemy of my enemy" people we supported.
Quote:
But that's not even half of it! We now learn that Senator McCain's friend Abdelhakim Belhadj has been promoted from an al-Qaeda operative to his current position as the head of ISIS in Libya!
|
Now he's changed employers.

**Edit
I got the wrong story. I thought you were talking about this story:
McCain and Syrian Rebels
One of these guys in the pic is with iSIS/iSIL and helped kidnap a bunch of people. McCain is lucky he wasn't kidnapped.
