Among the guys debating tonight I'm most impressed with Giulani and Huckabee - yes Huckabee! I'm liking him more as I listen to him and watch him.
Giulani is capable, intelligent and persuasive.
Mitt Romney is very good looking :D and "presidential" looking too. Well, you know -- it is TV after all. LOL. He does have some good things to say, which is probably partly why he is where he is tonight. :) ;)
McCain and Thompson have been mostly quiet except to address the questions presented by Charlie Griffin, the host. Perhaps Thompson simply can't talk quickly enough to keep up with the fray? :heeheehee
Ron Paul? Seems to be struggling a bit and not taken real serious by some of the other candidates. ;)
Of course it's still VERY early on. Just a few thoughts by from a Canadian looker-on. :2cents

McCain has taken a few potshots at Romney much to Romney's very noticeable discomfort.

To be honest, I haven't paid much attention to the whole thing...sounds terrible I know.
I tuned into the Republicans for a hit second, and then cut it off.
If the Dems are on, I may see what they're about...:search

Too bad they didn't leave their mikes on while they were all greeting.
Those conversations would have been interesting to hear.
Not watching. no real point, the media will pick their winners. what I am doing is trying to figure out which one is most right. (none of them are all right)
Every time I hear Huck, I like him. every time I read about him, I dont like him.
as for the Dems? there are only 3 that matter and all 3 are died in the wool Marxists. Sadly one of them has a 60% chance of winning the Whitehouse.

Mitt Romney was put on the defensive by several of his rivals. Moreso than any other candidate.

I just saw the repeat of that exchange with McCain and Mitt..."You can spend your fortune on the ads and they still won't be true..." Whoa...!!

I used to be WAY more interested in politics and elections than I've been the last several years. Both American (I do have a Yankee husband after all) and Canadian politics.
Even when I was a teen, I'd argue politics and issues with the dads of my friends and later with male co-workers, guys at church, etc. They loved it! :D

My dad was and my brothers are very political and are at different ends of the deal...mom has to ask them to NOT talk politics when they are together. :drama
I think Sen. C looks a little tired tonight...

I've been listening to the debates all week and I really like Huckabee. I think Romney comes across a bit fake. McClain is too old. Hillary is evil, and even though he is Democratic...Obama sounds like MLK and it may be time for an African American to lead us...not because of skin color...but because it is time.

Too early to predict who the winner will be, but not who the loser will be. :)
Most of them looked really tired - particularly the Democrats. John Edwards was the most "alive" of the bunch as far as the Dems go. I thought JE came across really well tonight. For what that's worth. :lol

That's the problem, IMHO, with starting the campaigning too early...it wears on everyone.
They should start the summer before the elections...that's more than enough time to get your views out there.
Just my tired thoughts and now I'm off to wonderland...:bedtime

One can only hope the trend is the same as it has been since 1952. The canditate who wins New Hampshire moves into Pennsylvania Ave.
Hillary can be a has been and "Who is Huckabee?" will be established. The canditates will give 3 second soundbites and most of the majority of Americans hypnotized by Hollywood Talking Heads will never think past what hey heard in the last 10 seconds.
I do miss Manchester this week.

Yes, but he did congradulate Canada on their National Igloo!
The man was given a state in disarray and a mandate and he botched it.

Sorry you lost me when you stated support for Guilani. That guy is such a snake and I can discern his odor.
Ron Paul is clearly out for the people's best interest and did ok with 10 percent of the vote....at least he beat Guilani :)
You could go for John E. and his 400 dollar haircuts or Hillary's secret agenda with gun control or Obama's secret agenda of getting elected as the first closet Muslim. :stirpot
Sigh. I wish Ron Paul would win. He is a doctor who is pro-life and is a former flight surgeon in the military. He has alot of political experience and wants to bring our boy/girls home and stop this war that we CAN NOT afford. He said it so perfectly "our bridges are falling down and we are spending money we don't have to destroy bridges in other countries."
Have a good Sunday everyone.

I find it interesting that both Obama and Romney are not given any grief over their grandfather's five wives. One Muslim and one Mormon.

As far as taxes...he raised them 47% above what Clinton did. He can not promote himself as a conservative and do liberal things.

I am not defending tax hikes... I pay over $20,000 per year and would love to cut that.
but... there can be much more to these types of questions.
Like - did governers in other states raise taxes more or less during the same time period?
Government spending blossomed nationally during the eleven years he was governor - too bad Huck was not an exception.
