Sorry, to break this to you, but that clip obviously was cut and spliced in order to take Obama's words out of context. Hello!!! It was a 527 ad!!!
I only wish that you would devote equal amount of time posting dirt on McCain...at least, it would be more likely to be true than this dribble!
Write in Ron Paul for President 2008!

Hey, you :snapout...
Voting for McCain (warmonger and ultimate flip-flopper) or Obama (pro-choice candidate) would be a waste of a vote!
Writing in Ron Paul for President may not get him elected, but it would send a message to the two parties that we want a real change in Washington...not just politicians who would say anything in order to win!!!

vrblackwell,
are you posting the things you post in an effort to expose the attacks on Obama as sinister or do you actually agree with the sentiments of the anti Obama stuff you post?
I have no way to back up my "gut feeling", but a lot of the anti Obama stuff circulating around about him is circulated by people who have a problem with Obama's race, not just his opinions.

Well your gut feeling is wrong when it come to me. My fear of Obama becoming president has nothing to do with his race. His policies would be disastrous for a capitalistic country.

Didn't think that about you. My use of "people" was a generalization.
So why would his policies be disastrous for a capitalistic country?
His policies would not be enacted without Congress backing him up. Do you think that Congress will let one man destroy our capitalistic society?
The closest we've ever come to that is with this current Admin and its out of control spending, lax rules for business and lack of oversight for financial institutions. This Admin created this atmosphere for our current financial woes.
Surely Obama's policies will not rival Bush's policies in terms of "disastrous" for the country!

Also, I could be wrong, but just about everything you have posted about Obama has been either skewed or just flat out a, well, it appears your posts about Obama are for the most part inaccurate.
Why?
If you disagree with his policies, start a thread outlining one of his policies, state why you disagree with that policy, and encourage dialog.
Ridicule and besmirching someone's name just for the sake of doing so, is at the bare minimum, weak.

Actually, this sub-prime mess that is causing all these issues with the real estate market started with the banks relaxing their rules on loans back in the 90s, during Clinton's time in office. That was when credit started opening up to everyone and anyone with a job. It just took all this time for the wave to come crashing down.

Rico,
loans from "stated income" only did not exist in the 90's did they?
that is just one of the practices that has helped to create the financial mess in the housing market. the financial mess has wide ranging affects, that I believe to be centered around the housing crisis-- the housing crisis that did not get out of hand until this century.

I know that, 1399. The loans that are the root cause of the housing crisis started being offered during the 90s. Once the sub-prime market took off like a rocket, property values started sky rocketing too. We have ridden that wave out, and it came crashing down on us. It (these easy to get home loans) started back in the 90s, not during Bush's administration.

Well, I'm not convinced of that. We had a "mini recession" in 2000 and then 9/11 also affected our financial systems. Policies encouraged and enacted after those two events, I think, are the roots of our current crisis situation.
We'll say your assertion is true. Still, proper fiscal oversight FROM THIS ADMIN could have stopped things from getting out of hand like they are now.
Things have gone sour on Bush's watch, after almost 8 years of it being his watch. There is plenty that could have been done on his watch to thwart this current crisis.
