Hello to all,
Bro. and Sis. Alvear have officially conquered Machu Picchu. These ruins are very strenuous to hike, even for the physically fit. Nevertheless, they both made it to Celestial observatory, one of the highest points in the ruins. More to come...

Thinking of hiking up there, imagine carrying the quarry stones there to build the place! I would love to visit that place.

What is the temperature there? Can't tell if you're all covered up because it's cold, or if you're trying to keep the sun off!
Glad you're having an awesome time! I'm happy for you.:santathumb

Well, we just arrived back in Lima...It has been awesome...We head for razil tomorrow afternoon.
Actually it is rainy season and it cools off in the evening but it was nice and warm for the climb. My legs are a little sore but actually I cannot believe we did it! Glad we have Brother and Sister Lewis they have been angels to help us in every way.
We carried oxgen with us and everything we needed in back packs...we went slow, rested and then climbed some more...it was just awesome...
Wish some of you folks could have been with us...we have met some interesting people and invited them to come visit us in Brazil!

A few of our pictures. The educated children can speak Spanish and some can even speak English. However, many of the children in the valley, such as these, still can only speak the Inca language.
