What must I do to be allowed to leave?

They can change your password for you though, or add you to their blacklist... but they won't delete your account.

I'm told it's a security measure so no one can come back registered with your current user name after you're gone.

We don't delete accounts, but they can be disabled.
I can block you at the server, but you won't be able to lurk and decide to partake in something you may like.

I don't understand posts like this. If one wants to leave, they are free to leave. They don't have to be banned, deleted, removed, or anything else in order to be released from this forum.
