Would someone PLEASE post a 'set in stone' definition of the terms

Ultra-Con
Con
Lib
Mod

Please include full definition and list of beliefs that fall into each catagory.
This would be for dumb folks like myself who keep calling someone liberal when they are NOT liberal... (or so they say;-)

Now.. this is TIC... I don't really want a list... but can we all agree the terms are very relative... what one considers liberal may not be considered liberal at all to someone else who is MORE liberal...or moderate or WHATEVER?

I'm just weary of being misunderstood and this is my vent... :nutso

I am a Liberal/Moderate/Con

I am liberal on Dress. I do not care about the Affirmation statement and how to follow dress codes because an organization wants to be defined by them.

I am moderate on the when the Acts 2:38 is applied to salvation.

I am a Con on the idea of the doctrine of the Godhead as defined in our terms as "Oneness".

Now the fun comes in when others define us!

Well if you're pretty much like me then you are obviously a Mod.

If you think some things I think are wrong are OK then you are obviously a Lib.

If think some of the things I think are OK are wrong then you are a Con.

If you mention anything that I do in a negative way you are obviously an Ultra-Con.

At least that's the way it looks from here.:)

MrsLPW - no liberal ever admits anything other than being conservative. Moderates don't ever understand the lean either direction. Conservatives don't ever think anyone Liberal is saved. UC don't think anyone else is saved ever.

rgcraig 12-19-2007 03:33 PM

From the Lexicon:

Conservative - (adjective) Biblical. Everyone admits to being a conservative.

Liberal - (noun) Person or persons appointed to initiate throwing stones at conservatives, after their judgment of being Pharisees.

Liberal - (noun) Someone who is likely pro-life and anti-homosexual marriage and a Christian but doesn't hold to PAJC doctrine. No single person will declare "I am a liberal." See Conservative.

Moderate - (noun) 1. The condition of fearing association with a minority. Collectively coined by the majority. 2. Really biblical.

Ultracon - Those who dole out the Judgments of God dualy appointed by Him because of their Righteousness and given permission to judge the Moderate & Liberal dogs of Materialism & Compromise.

Ultra-Con - (noun) Men who love truth and are serious about obeying the Scriptures. Often mocked by those who have Gone Charismatic, and other Backsliders.

It's all TIC too. You need to visit the Lexicon to get a feel of it all. We brought that over from NFCF.

I am a liberal. I believe that salvation is given liberally to those who truly ask for it and give their lives to Jesus Christ. :D

Yes, pretty much has to be fluid and relative. For example, with the ultra-cons leaving, will everything shift, and the moderates become the cons, the cons become the ultra-cons, and the cough cough liberals, become moderate???

Scott Hutchinson 12-19-2007 04:42 PM

Following Jesus Christ and being His disciple and being considered a child of God,and a true Christian is the only label I care to wear.

Funny thing about a name tag it can blow off going up,and it can burn up going down.

LadyChocolate 12-19-2007 04:53 PM

I am an ultra mod! Yep! I sure am!

You've got that right. If you believe the Bible at all, much of our society will lable you "kook fringe extreme conservative." And then to have your own brethren label you "ultra-liberal" because you don't condemn people for showing their elbows in public can lead to perplexity.

These labels can be significant however. I remember a visit from an evangelist from a "conservative" church in CA many years ago. He railed against "liberals" in the UPC and proclaimed the P.S.R. Conference to be the "premier gathering of conservative Apostolics." He then went on to denigrade "another conference" in CA that was host to a bunch of "liberals."

The labels were first used by men who wanted to call themselves "conservatives." In reality the represented a movement of radical change, the very antithesis of real conservatism. Mrs. LPW appears to be admirably tired of this division. But the history behind the causes of the division is important.

Just let you all guess what I am...shall I name my friends?

It's all relative, dontcha know? ;)

How a person is defined is directly related to where the person doing the pigeon-holing is sitting on the lib to con scale.

that is soo true! I have laughed because I really don't fit in with anyone, the way I believe... And about the only ones who would accept us as we are seem to have gone waaaay liberal so to fellowship them would be considered compromise...LOL Go figure! I wear no jewelry at all but yet I watch videos... I celebrate no christmas but wearing short sleeves is not an issue to me. I don't think that if a person has a beard they are lost, but I won't and don't cut my hair. I'm just a mess, let me tell ya.... LOL:jolly

(oh, and I think if someone knew me on here and they saw me use a santa smiley, I would be doomed for life! LOL)

Please, please.... May I head up the new liberals? Where do I apply? I was actually thinking of naming ourselves something like: "New Apostolic Movement Enthusiasts" (acronym NAME)... and we will be able to say, "We are the people of the NAME." And we will represent:

Jesus' Name Truth
+ Five-Fold Ministries
+ Operational Giftings
+ Equipping Saints
- Extra Biblical Standards
- Spirits of Condemnation
-----------------------
= NAME's Affirmation Statement

Whatcha think?

I think the NAME acronym (sp?) is neat.
