Chloe
Our new Boston Terrier puppy didn't make it. :( My dear, heartbroken husband called me this morning with the news (from the vet). Parvo got the best of her. We're going to pick her up this afternoon and bury her under the front flower bed.
*sigh* I think this was in the PM that Pressing-On posted to her thread, but I have never seen my husband so smitten with a dog--or any other animal--and he is simply devastated. I really can't stand to see my husband cry. It makes me cry buckets. :tissue :tissue Say a prayer for him today! In the meantime, we have made several calls to the breeder, who isn't answering the phone. (of course :depressed ) We aren't even going to try to get our money back--I doubt we could anyway--but we are going to file a complaint, and let the local newspaper know that she sold a puppy with Parvo. Hopefully, they will remove her ad. Puppies can get the virus after they've had their first shot, and up until they're completely immunized, but since we know what the incubation period is, and she started acting sick the first night we brought her home, we're pretty sure the breeder knowingly sold us a sick puppy. |
Re: Chloe
God does care about such things.

Re: Chloe
Aw man. I hate to hear that. I had a puppy who died from Parvo several years ago and it was the saddest thing to watch her.
I'll say a prayer for you guys, Miss B. |
Re: Chloe
Awwww, sorry for your loss. Will be lifting y'all up in prayer.

While I truly appreciate the sacrificial generosity you are showing here, we really wouldn't want to take Tito from his family. :coffee2 ...:snapout |
Re: Chloe
Awww, Abby. My heart aches for your family tonight. May God bring you comfort as only He can do. He cares when we hurt - even when we hurt over a puppy. :friend

People's Court!! Seriously!!
And I'm sorry to hear about the puppy. Hope the kids are doing well also. |
Re: Chloe
Abby I would try and get my money back.
Parvo is highly contagious. A friend of mine used to work for a vet. She said when a puppy comes in with Parvo they have to get everyone out of the waiting room, sterilize it and change their coats. They have to be very careful they don't take it home to their own pets. I understand Jeff's loss and pray you find a new puppy that you all can love just as much. :):friend |

So, yes, wait to get another dog. Or if you get one, make sure that it has had all of it's vaccinations first. |

Yeah, I knew there was a problem when the tech took the booties off her feet, and sprayed her shoes with bleach water before stepping out of the room, and the vet didn't touch the puppy at all, because she wasn't gloved up. My husband is still mopey. I'm thinking about getting him another puppy, (maybe for Christmas?) but not right away, and I'm going to look into some rescue foundations. |

Re: Chloe
Perhaps the six months referred to the age of the dog. I'm not sure, cause it's been over ten years since I had a dog die from that. He was more than 6 months old but didn't have any shots, and Parvo must have already been on the property.
