Re: D-Day - 65th Anniversary - Never Forget!
I thought about this today.
I wondered what was going through the minds of those Soldiers who knew they were going to die while attempting to make it to the shore. So many thousands boldly stared death in the face, and died anyway, unflinchingly. Can you imagine the horror-- the fear and the overcoming that happened on that day? My heart races thinking about it. To call those men brave would not do them justice, given what they had to overcome that day. |

I am glad you remembered...I remembered, too......We should never forget the sacrifice.

Watching all of these videos make me want to go and hug my Dad....Hug a Vet tomorrow for sure!....We'd better hug the WWII's Vets - Dads, Granddads or maybe Great-granddads for some of you. We don't have many left and they are dying by the thousands everyday.

You can watch right now the ceremonies honoring D-Day Veterans. It is being broadcast live on FoxNews...
Obama will speak on what is technically U.S. soil -- the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer. The leaders of France, Britain and Canada also will attend, and a 12-plane flyover by French, British and American jets also is planned. American, British and other veterans rode a bus from Caen to Colleville-sur-Mer for the invitation-only afternoon ceremony on Omaha Beach. http://www.foxnews.com/ |
