Marriage / Race / Nationalities

Is it wrong to marry outside of your nationality? And Moses?

God does not see in Red, Yellow, Black or Green! Only to be Equally Yoked!

Not wrong. Nor is it "wrong" to wish to marry inside your own race.

The antimarriage thing(black/white mostly) has slowly changed over the years with alot realizing the error of it.

Re: Marriage / Race / Nationalities

Yes, it is a sin to marry outside your race. We are commanded by Scripture to marry within our own race.

...the human race, that is.

Amazing we shout about being oneness believers but live so divided.

Re: Marriage / Race / Nationalities

Humankind is divided into three groups: Jews, Gentiles, and the Church (ref 1 Corinthians 10:32). In my opinion if we are in the church we can marry only within the church.

O.O

Seriously tho.

Would it be wrong if I fell in love and married a "smokin' hot", blue skinned, alien babe from another galaxy with long red hair that happened to be a Christian?

And what if she lived in a state of symbiosis with a beautiful 2nd cousin? Could I marry them both?

I am glad God allowed me to see that it was not about the color of the skin. I have some family that might not be real happy once my boys get married because they all seem to have an eye for girls who have more color to their skin than they do. :)

I'm always surprised that this is still an issue.

God had to show you that?

Seriously?

No, I do not think it is wrong to "marry outside of your nationality." I do, however, think that it would be VERY wrong to even attempt to marry Moses.

Re: Marriage / Race / Nationalities

Interracial marriage. Perfectly acceptable. I heard a preacher (he was not OP by the way) say "God separated the nations for a reason!" that was his justification for blacks and white not marrying. My question was, so how does an American black man marrying an American white woman go against what you just said?

Heh... startling silence. Skin tone means nothing. Marry any saved Holy Ghost filled believer of your choice (as long as God leads you to that is).

Re: Marriage / Race / Nationalities

I was at a conference just this summer, where the evangelist blasted anyone who preached against interracial marriage.
He was right!

One thing I have always been confused about is how do those who preach against interracial marriage, draw their lines.
Is someone who is half black and half white expected to find someone else of the same blood? Can they marry either race?
Seems like that is a very slippery slope.

not SERIOUSLY
BUT I was raised in a rather redneck atmosphere. Might have been in a preachers home but certain attitudes and words were not UNCOMMON.
when you are raised a certain way a bit of help from GOD does go a long way in helping someone learn a thing or two.

amen. didnt grow up in a preachers home, but I did grow up in the deep south in the 70's and 80's. God did open my eyes and thank God for that.

The answer to the question is.... NO....

I don't think it's wrong, but you need to look at a few things. Cultural differences may cause problems and you would need to get used to some things. Other than that I think its fine.

The cultural thing is always a seemingly valid reason to think about when discussing this subject. Except, it applies in ANY relationship. My wife's family culture is/was much different then mine.

From Prax's track record on this topic I'd have to say that what he probably meant was "Yes" - it's fine to marry a Midianite maiden with "Cushite" features.

I'm with Segordida... Serguord... Segway... Ben. I'm with Ben on this one. I can't believe that this is still an issue.
