So... this happened to me yesterday...
 

I hurt my neck the other night because I slept wrong. Because of this I had horrible headaches all week. So I went to get a massage. I guess I was naive and didn't know what was going to happen, but half way through the massage the lady told me to roll over so she could...do things I DID NOT want her to do - If you know what I mean.

Can you all believe that? I was a bit moritfied! I told her NO WAY and demanded my money back. I got NO refund. Out of all people I know this would happen to me. Good lawd!

Are you out of the country? This happens frequently in foreign countries and is why I always advise the people who go on missions trips with us NOT to get massages abroad unless it is in a mall/airport etc. where you are in plain sight.

I am sorry you were in pain, and I guess some of those places are legit. But, really you should probably go to the doctor if it doesn't get better.

I have gone to the doctor last time this happened & the only thing they do is medicate it with pain pills. I don't want to take pain pills. I want true relief.

Tons of legit places. And - usually pretty easy to tell ;)

Had only one in my life, but the lady was extremely professional, never uncomfortable at all. Come to find out her family was old friends of ours that we hadn't seen in many years.

I have heard the sterotypes of the Asian massage parlors from TV & movies, But... now I know they are real. Geesh....

Most states this is highly regulated. When I moved to Texas in the early 80's there were a t on of"massage" places that were in the sex trade. Then the state required licensing and certification, etc and you could not call yourself a massage business without a lot of regulation and confirmation you were legit. So then they became "model" shops where you could "photograph" models.

I have had massages from four or five different massage therapists in my area of TN with not one incident of impropriety. I can't imagine what I would do in your situation! You should report them to vice.

Last I knew, NC had the photography shops too.

The few massage parlors I have tried to visit here in the states have seemed to be legit. There was this one massage parlor on Okinawa I visited and there was this contraption that can be best described as a human crockpot!

There was a full body massage, the crockpot and then another full body massage. It was a great first experience for a 19 year old whose only brush with the Orient was Chinese food!

Next time look for a chain like 'Massage Envy' that is legit. Their massage therapists have to have training and licensing. There is a large Asian sex trade in Houston and they pose as everything here, modeling studios, massage parlors, hair salons where your $20 hair cut comes with a happy ending.... but most are pretty obvious.

So sorry you got victimized...

Yep, or check with your gym for a good recommendation. I agree that you should report the incident. Even if they don't do anything about it, a report will give them a history to look at if someone else complains.
