Christie will be a unifier that will take a common sense approach to conservatism in the context of a country that is unnecessarily divided.

He is our party's hope of winning the White House against an extremely popular Hillary Clinton.

Rand Paul and whoever will not be able to stop HC ticket.

Now if Christie and Paul were on the same ticket... :happydance

Obama has tried numerous times to unite-- but the House Republicans are dead set against him and are at the point now where they don't even try-- oh and they have been at that point since 2010, and maybe even earlier.

"It's our goal to make Obama a one-term President."

It's not our goal to fix the economy, restore jobs, help the President end the war in Afghanistan, find a suitable resolution for Gitmo-- no we want to make the President look bad every chance we get and stop him from being effective in everything because we want him to be a "one-term President."

Please understand I'm not referring to literal "destruction" in a physical sense. I'm referring to destroying influence and any confidence the people might have in the Democrat Party. No, I do not want to unite with Obama. I don't unite with anti-american, communist loving fanatics. And I absolutely agreed with those who wanted to make Obama a one term President. Even now I wish him no success in his efforts to destroy America. I'm praying for his failure. He is an evil man and an enemy of our freedoms. Only those blinded by prejudice cannot see this.

His berating of Republicans in Congress for not passing a bloated, pork-stuffed, Sandy aide bill wasn't right. He should have blasted the members of Congress who were using the bill to push their pet projects and pass more spending.

Money is not given without expectations. These big-money, left-wing supporters of Obama and Emmanuel will expect something in return. I simply do not want the Republican candidate getting money from people whose politics and policies the party is diametrically opposed.

It's not that we want to destroy fellow Americans; it's that we want to destroy liberal politics. First, let's get what McConnell said correct and in context. You're spouting off typical liberal nonsense. Obama and his cronies have claimed that McConnell said this when Obama won the election in 2008, which is a lie. McConnell said this in an interview 2 years after the fact, in 2010.

Here's a portion of the interview:

By the summer of 1995, he was already on the way to being reelected, and we were hanging on for our lives.

NJ: What does this mean now?

McConnell: We need to be honest with the public. This election is about them, not us. And we need to treat this election as the first step in retaking the government. Here's the much-quoted statement, though taken completely out of context.

For years this lie about McConnell and the Republicans wanting Obama to fail has been going around. It wasn't anyone in Congress who said that; it was Rush Limbaugh.

Your commentary at the end of your post is wrong. The Republicans haven't been trying to make the President look bad or oppose him just to spite him. Unlike you, being a Republican means something. It means you're for cutting spending; less taxes; fiscal discipline; protecting the unborn; etc.

You make it sound like Republicans should just rubber stamp anything Obama wants; because if they don't, oh those dirty scumbags are just doing it to make Obama look bad.

Obama has never tried to unite. Never. Not one time.

He used his lopsided victory over McCain as a "mandate" to force Republicans into submission. There was no middle ground with Obama; he demanded the Republicans simply roll over and pass whatever he wanted.

Last year's election was the same. He used his Inauguration speech in January to push his radical, left-wing agenda. With that speech, he made it very clear that he expected Republicans to completely abandon their principles and support his liberal policies.

With regards to uniting America, he's done the opposite.

Obama used his campaign to promote class warfare. He constantly demonized anyone who was successful as unAmerican; he berated the rich for not "paying their fair share," when the FACT is they pay more than their fair share.

He told everyone that business owners "didn't build that."

His never-ending campaign ripped any businessmen or backer of Romney. Even to the point of having confidential IRS documents and contents of those documents leaked to the press. It's no wonder the IRS targeted conservative organizations. The Obama campaign led the charge with their rhetoric.

His Presidency will be remembered in history as the most arrogant, obstructive, secretive, and divisive. His campaigns will be remembered as the most dishonest, brutal, ugly campaigns in history.

Show me any instance in which the President has united us? Not counting any national tragedy where it's obvious.

As the President, he's supposed to lead and find compromises. Almost half the country voted against him both times. It's not as though an overwhelming majority voted him into office. This isn't Reagan's landslide victory.

The country is divided. And the President has to find middle ground.

Jermyn claims Obama has, but left no proof of such. We have an abundance of proof showing that he hasn't.

Remember what the left was saying about W when he was re-elected...they said he shouldn't view the re-election as a mandate, but should govern from the middle like Clinton did.
