I always find it interesting that these Sola Scriptura guys always quote the church councils and post biblical writers as authorities when its convenient.

I was listening to Todd Friels (was at Strange Fire Conference) Drive By Theology with RW Glenn. They gave 3 lessons on the trinity and they are saying things like "this will make you head explode" "I can't understand it you can't explain it, it just is". They talk about God several times as they and their.

I find it ironic that trinitarians who say scripture alone are willing to ........ people to hell for a doctrine not explicitly taught in scripture that had to be formulated a few hundred years, and which most of them will admit they neither understand it NIR can explain and it is a seeming contradiction--YET if you don't believe it the same way they do as defined by Athanasius and the church councils then you can go to hell.

Its sad and unnecessary. There should be room for slight differences. Both groups believe in Jesus in a way that saves according to 1 John. Both believe He is the Son if God, come in the flesh, is the Messiah, Divine, and atonement for sins, and resurrected bodily. The bible never tells us what we must believe about God in order to be saved (theologically speaking) but does tell us what we need to believe about Jesus. I don't see any deficiency in OP theology from that POV.

He apparently didn't research to well. Oneness does believe all three exist at the same time.

Exactly what I responded to the poster of the video.

He also said T.D. Jakes is "the most prominent Oneness Pentecostal"....either the man is willing to say anything to bash those he doesn't agree with or he has no clue what he is talking about.

He is against women preachers if I am not mistaken...I would have to verify the fact but somewhere in my mind seems like I have heard or read something he said or wrote about women...

A very good example of a tri theist believer. Three Gods.

well at least them Trinitarians are not longer killing us.
I guess not because they do not want too, but because they can't in todays society.

I consider that a plus.

Not true.

He is either misinformed or more likely willingly ignorant about what oneness Pentecostals believe. He's a very good Bible teacher and has been willing to take a stand on the Word of God in environments where many other "Christians" tend to fold. There's a lot more to like about MacArthur than not. But if your not a trinitarian or Calvinist (I am neither) then his ministry has its limits. But I don't see him as a false teacher in any way. He's wrong about some OPs and some Charismatics, but he is right in calling out the abuses and excesses of the movement that we fail to police as we credit every bizarre work to the HG.

I think we should take the high road when another believer condemns us to hell, especially when they don't really understand us. I always say:

I'm just thankful that The Father is my judge, not my brothers.

yeah...and, they're nice enough to allow some of us to sware complete allegiance to the version of the bible they translated too, that's also a plus.

It wasn't too long ago he was labeled heretical by evangelicals for his view of the Eternal Logos doctrine...he got the revelation real quick and switched to Eternal Son doctrine

Suppose you used a Hebrew bible only, no English needed. You would be using a bible compiled and transmitted and 'secured' by people who's theology explicitly rejects Jesus as anything but the son of a whore and a false prophet.

How's that for perspective?
