I always find it interesting that these Sola Scriptura guys always quote the church councils and post biblical writers as authorities when its convenient.
I was listening to Todd Friels (was at Strange Fire Conference) Drive By Theology with RW Glenn. They gave 3 lessons on the trinity and they are saying things like "this will make you head explode" "I can't understand it you can't explain it, it just is". They talk about God several times as they and their.
I find it ironic that trinitarians who say scripture alone are willing to ........ people to hell for a doctrine not explicitly taught in scripture that had to be formulated a few hundred years, and which most of them will admit they neither understand it NIR can explain and it is a seeming contradiction--YET if you don't believe it the same way they do as defined by Athanasius and the church councils then you can go to hell.
Its sad and unnecessary. There should be room for slight differences. Both groups believe in Jesus in a way that saves according to 1 John. Both believe He is the Son if God, come in the flesh, is the Messiah, Divine, and atonement for sins, and resurrected bodily. The bible never tells us what we must believe about God in order to be saved (theologically speaking) but does tell us what we need to believe about Jesus. I don't see any deficiency in OP theology from that POV.
