On Feb 1 2008 all Gas sold in B.C. must be prepaid.
Since Jan 2007 Gas bought at the pumps during the hours of 10 pm - 6 am had to be pre paid.

I could see that to protect late night workers, but 24/7????

I don't get it....you mean you have to pay for the gas before it's pumped?

Yes we do, but at times the interact system is down & if you use cash, it will have to be prepaid!

It's already that way in the small town I live in. Too many people were driving off without paying. Anyone paying cash has to pay before pumping. Otherwise, use a credit or debit card at the pump.

How is it received there?

I would have thought that Oil Companies couldn't get away with this?

It doesn't bother us at all in this area... except the guys that like to drive off without paying... I prefer to use my card at the pump anyways.... that way I don't have to buy and sell with cash, and I'm not tempted to buy a coke and candy bar while I'm in the store. I just wish I didn't have to carry all them cards...
