Falsely accused by CARM
I don't post on carm anymore...the reason is I went there to post and my posts were being deleted and or moderated. I emailed CARM and Diane gave me this
The reason is obvious, read our rules. The rules were broken, if and when we are permitted to return posters violating the rules, you will be informed. We will not tolerate posters lying about the ministry on our forums. This is our home, use some respect. Matt will answer emails of questions, not false accusations on public forums. Not once has anyone there told me what I did that was wrong. They just started deleting posts...posts mind you that were in defense of Oneness and refuting their arguments there. They still have not told me what I did, or given me an example or a warning. What rule did I violate? I was not told. I asked but was not told.. WHo did I lie about? What false accusation? She apparently can't tell me but just assumed I was guilty. That is why I don't post there Mizpeh and others. |

Re: Falsely accused by CARM
CARM is headed by Matt Slick. Matt is what folks here would consider to be a rather "hard-core Calvinist." I have actually corresponded with him in the past and found him to be a generous and caring individual. I suspect Prax's "sin" may have been due to the zeal of someone on Matt's staff. Obviously, I'm extrapolating at best, and perhaps just guessing as to the reasons for Prax's unfortunate experience.
Matt had just debated a Oneness (UPC) minister about a month ago in a formal debate held at his church in cental Idaho. It could be that some of the CARM staffers are sensitized to "OP rhetoric" - and face it, Prax is onery (just kidding there, little buddy). I have found that any time I attempt to engage someone in the realm of "religious controversy" that I first go out of my way to be candid about my motives in speaking with them. Next I try to be as precise and simultaneously as kind as I can possibly muster. That is, I do if I want to keep the channels of communication open. But even then, you will always meet folks that simply don't have the time or the patience to discuss your concerns. People are busy. You have to almost sell them on the idea that it's worth their time to hear you out. And that's usually a tough sell, no matter who your audience is. |
