Jesus Cares!

There was a time in my life when it seemed no one cared what happened to me. To be honest, I was in that situation due to some personal failings. I had failed God and sat alone, feeling the whole world was passing by and no one gave me a second look. No one cared. A brother drove 400 miles to see me and spoke just two words to me. "Jesus Cares". I thought "I know that". I wanted something more- something that would turn my life around- make everything good again. After the brother left, I thought about his words. "Jesus Cares".

Why would a brother drive 400 miles to tell me something I already knew? Then I thought about it. For him to visit me so early in the morning, he had to get up in the middle of the night, drive all thru the early morning hours, deprive himself of sleep, sacrifice time he could have spent with his family, all to come to the aid of a fallen brother. And, in so doing, bring just two words the world needs to hear. "Jesus Cares".

I guess we all find ourselves at some point wondering is anyone cares about our situation. More to the point, we wonder sometimes when life seems to be working against us if Jesus really does care for us. We go to prayer and it seems as if heaven is a million miles away. We desperately need a Word from the Lord, but God seems to be silent. But, somehow, and in some way, God shows us He is concerned about us. Maybe a Bible verse speaks to us. Or a song. Or someone does or says something that helps us to see the light of day once again.

Or someone posts something on AFF that speaks to us in our need. Years ago I use to preach on the radio. At the conclusion of the broadcast, I'd play the song "Someone to Care" in the background as I spoke these same words I'll leave with you:

"We love you...and we care for you... but much more important than that....

Jesus
Cares!

...for you."

Re: Jesus Cares!

I remember several years ago a lady came to our church and at the end of the service,
came forward to pray. I knelt slightly behind her and during the time she wept
and wept, I came very close to her side, gently placing my arm across her frail shoulders
and began to sing softly as if it were meant just for her. I didn't know her background
but later learned she was a backslider. We had known some of her apostolic relatives. Her home had been recently broken. Afterwards, she turned around to see who had sung and remarked that, "It sounded like an angel singing". "It sounded so beautiful". The song was "Someone To Care". When the world seems cold and your friends seem few. There is Someone who cares for you.
I am no angel and it is not my nature to start singing liike that, not knowing who she was or what was going on in her life, but Jesus did. I just had to follow the leading of HIS Spirit.

Someone To Care
Jimmie Davis

When the world seems cold
and your friends seem few
there is someone who cares for you
when you've tears in your eyes
your heart bleeds inside
there is someone who cares for you

Someone to care, someone to share
all your troubles like no other can do
He'll come down from the sky
and brush the tears from your eyes
you're His child and He cares for you

When your disappointment comes
and you feel so blue
there is someone who cares for you
when you need a friend
a friend till the end
there is someone who's a friend to you

Someone to care, someone to share
all your troubles like no other can do
He'll come down from the sky
and brush the tears from your eyes
you're His child and He cares for you

What an annointed song, "Someone to Care", and what a beautiful way for the Lord to use you, Falla. Must confess, when my pastor, Bishop Ewing sings "Someone to Care", I can feel the arms of God wrap around me! There's so many good things about God and his people, so many good reports. We waste too much time picking each other apart. "He daily loadeth us with benefits!"
