There was a time in my life when it seemed no one cared what happened to me. To be honest, I was in that situation due to some personal failings. I had failed God and sat alone, feeling the whole world was passing by and no one gave me a second look. No one cared. A brother drove 400 miles to see me and spoke just two words to me. "Jesus Cares". I thought "I know that". I wanted something more- something that would turn my life around- make everything good again. After the brother left, I thought about his words. "Jesus Cares".
Why would a brother drive 400 miles to tell me something I already knew? Then I thought about it. For him to visit me so early in the morning, he had to get up in the middle of the night, drive all thru the early morning hours, deprive himself of sleep, sacrifice time he could have spent with his family, all to come to the aid of a fallen brother. And, in so doing, bring just two words the world needs to hear. "Jesus Cares".
I guess we all find ourselves at some point wondering is anyone cares about our situation. More to the point, we wonder sometimes when life seems to be working against us if Jesus really does care for us. We go to prayer and it seems as if heaven is a million miles away. We desperately need a Word from the Lord, but God seems to be silent. But, somehow, and in some way, God shows us He is concerned about us. Maybe a Bible verse speaks to us. Or a song. Or someone does or says something that helps us to see the light of day once again.
Or someone posts something on AFF that speaks to us in our need. Years ago I use to preach on the radio. At the conclusion of the broadcast, I'd play the song "Someone to Care" in the background as I spoke these same words I'll leave with you:
"We love you...and we care for you... but much more important than that....
Jesus
Cares!
...for you."
