Sorry, yes I know it's serious. It's my (sometimes annoying) way, to try to lighten the discussion with a few little zingers, here and there. There is method to my madness, though. Truth behind the humor. E.g., it's really NOT a great idea to sweep things like this under the rug, and no, you didn't actually say that, but it's the impression I get from your posts. At least, as far as the "church" at large (i.e., members of internet forums) are concerned.
Why
shouldn't a major failure be publicized, if it's not ended satisfactorily? My other post illustrates why it should be: if other churches don't know about it, the guy (if unrepentant and not, um, "delivered" from his problem) can just move from one church to another, speaking, pastoring, whatever. Or do you have a solution for that? (References may not work. Nobody would give a reference that wouldn't give a good report!)
