Chris, we've been over this again and again.
Modern day America is not a replacement for Old Testament Israel. You do indeed have the Bible...your problem is that you can't make it say what you want, so you twist a little bit here and little bit there to apply liberal logic too it.
Consider this: Old Testament Israel was at first governed by God....when they started clamoring for more involvement by men (in the form of king's) God saw it as a rejection of Him. Liberalism is not the panacea for the world's problems...it is, in fact, a rejection of God in favor of government intervention. The church, not the government, is God's new chosen vessel to provide for those in need.
