However, to add to the confusion of some readers the phrase "segwayed" is thrown about in a clever off-handed manner. It's a sort of
faux naivite in which the two wheeled scooter is substituted for the traditional use of segue as you've defined above.
London's
TimesOnline famously (or infamously) confounded the terms and then instead of trying to appear clever they caved and confessed ignorance and corrected the offending verbiage (24th paragragh - be warned, the language is coarse - typically Labour Party British).
