Nor do i find the acts 2:38 pattern alluded to in any of the epistles that sought to set salvational and christological straight in light of heresys that these apostles were seeking to rectify in many of their letters... Such as judaizers, gnostics, etc.
I see this soteriological verse (john 3:16) amplified and reinforced in john's didactic 1st letter and thematic to all of his writings.
