No Thanks, I Will Stay Old Time Pentecost

A Pentecostal lady with uncut hair, no makeup and a dress stands out like the proverbial deer in the headlights at a non denominational charismatic meeting.

The clean shaven Pentecostal man without the jewerly is too old timey for the new improved Pentecostals.

So the first step to being accepted by and fellowshipping with trinitarian charismatics is the dropping of the standard.

Then it's just another step to "well they don't really believe in three Gods, after all it's really just semantics".

And then the use of the name of Jesus in water baptism is not as important as it used to be.

Thanks, but NO THANKS, I'll just stay over here and WATCH the train wreck.

Why is it that the women stand out but the men don't?

And 'jewelry' is relative. Cuff links, sporty watches, and neckties don't count, right?

Honestly, now did you feel that way say 15 years ago?

I wasn't in church 15 years ago.

However, I felt that way 25 years ago.

It's what my pastor taught.

He said he didn't need to show us where the Bible said it.

He was the pastor, and we were to take his word for it. Yes, he said this from the pulpit all the time.

Well, I didn't question. I took his word for everything.

About ten years ago, I found out he was wrong with many things he taught. I tried finding them in my Bible but couldn't. And believe me when I say I tried! See, people like how I am now tried telling me it wasn't there. I was out to prove them wrong.

I'm still trying to prove them wrong. I still can't find what I'm looking for.

He said it was in there. I can't find it.

Sounds like you need a heart to heart with him.

He's no longer my pastor and hasn't been for over 20 years.

I've learned that questioning pastors isn't a good idea.

If Old is right Jesus and Paul would have fellowshipped Trinitarians and gave up their stand on baptism in Jesus name

I have not seen any of this here Prax. Course we have preacher's that preach Jesus. Wear Timex watches if they have one. And drive pick-up trucks.

Im sure they don't all have rolexes, however I have seen preachers with expensive suits, watches and cars just like someone on Wall Street. The point was you could not tell the difference by clothing only
