Church Events are Like....
Here's some background...
In another forum, a poster had asked for the outline of the Leadership Weekends our ministry does for small churches. I specifically was outlining some of the teaching, and the exercises we do, and how God had really opened this church up to serving and reaching folks.
So a real nasty poster came on the thread and said, events, events, events... and said an event can't address a need of change of heart. So I stated, well, it's the content of the event that matters. If the event is just for the sake of a crowd, doing some program, etc and isn't really filled with content that challenges us and pushes us to be more like Christ, then yes, I'm in agreement. But this event was bathed in prayer and fasting, we had tons of Biblical teaching the whole weekend, Altar time, footwashing, communion... and just a real time of people breaking before the Lord and being repentant.
So I ended my last post this way....
Church Events are like Burritos... it's the content that will determine if you get something that will keep you up at night!
I'll probably regret this, but on this Friday... anybody else wanna finish that line? Church Events are like?
