People Looking To Take Offense Will Find It
People looking to take offense will find it. Even when it is not there. My mind was blown when I found out yesterday that a person in our church had a traditional Pentecostal visit last week and what that person said about their visit.
Now our church is in no way shape or form a traditional Pentecostal church and I would not expect many if any traditional OP's to approve. We baptize in Jesus name and believe in the gifts of the Spirit but a lot of everything else is different.
However when the member of our church asked their Pentecostal guests what they thought of the service the next day they said that they were greatly disturbed by the "pyramids" painted on murals at the front of the church behind the platform and the thought that this meant we were a new age church. In fact they were disturbed so much they could not sleep.
The only problem is that the "pyramids" are in fact mountains painted in a modern art kind of way by a artist in the church. I am putting a picture I took yesterday at our 5 pm Saturday service for you to see.
I am still amazed at this...how do I say it politely? Oh, I guess there is just no way so I will go ahead and say STUPIDITY.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
