Doing all you can for God?

Are you really doing all that you possibly can for God? Going to church, bringing the lost to church, witnessing, tithing, giving above and beyond your tithe, teaching, preaching, etc.

Take witnessing and trying to lead sinners to the Lord, e.g. Do you take advantage of every opportunity? Do you talk with your neighbors about the Lord? The supermarket cashier? Waitresses? Your kids' teachers? Do you flag down cars and witness to the driver and passengers? If not, is their blood on your hands?

If not doing everything you possibly can, are you doing enough? How much is enough?

Hey, just asking.

(Could have made this a poll, but what would be the point? I doubt anyone could answer Yes! Or can you?)

I was standing in line at Zaxby's last Sunday night. I loudly said to the lady standing in the line ordering, "Hey lady, hurry up. You're holding up the line!" The man standing just in front of me turned around and had a look of horror on his face as if to say, I know you just didn't tell that lady to hurry up.

I just smiled at him and said, "That's my pastor's wife!" And I laughed loudly.

He began to laugh along when he understood my joke. We talked about how Zaxbys was a good chicken place, then about how I was just going out to eat with church folks and before he even got his own food I handed him a church card and invited him out to church.

When I invited him out, a big smile came to his face as he said, "I just might do that!" Apparently he recently moved into my area and was potentially looking for a church family.

It's not a big thing, I was just showing friendliness to a stranger.

It was just a 2 or 3 minute conversation, but who knows.

Now that's good stuff. I'm a big proponent of handing out invites to church.

Doing all you can for God is fine. You just have to make sure that your doing is not for the sake of building the kingdom of man disguised as working for the Lord.

It can be a very difficult call to make.

Jesus has his priorities right...that is the test.

I try not to let the Kingdom of God get in the way. It's just easier that way.

And here all this time, I thought it was just about the next new building.
