I must say I can say with increasing ease... I hate law.
I don't use that word about many things but I do, indeed, hate law.
Law kills.
Law destroys.
Law has no mercy.
Law never brings life.
Law only brings death.
I have been dealing with the school around here and all they know is that crazy handbook.
Well behaved kids who do well on their grades spend days and days in ISS over a 99.2% success rate of being on time to their classes. 3 tardies over 360 classes. (I know those of you involved in a previous thread on this subject are aware of all of this)
But I am ranting because we have been dealing with law again and all law does is bring out anger. To tell you the truth... law brings out rebellion. It doesn't cure it.
I am about as easy to get along with as anyone you will ever meet. Making me adngry is a hard task indeed but nothing brings it out of me like blind, relentless, justice-less law.
I
Hate
Law.
Law without mercy is among the most destructive powers on this earth.
It kills peoples spirits.
It kills initiative.
It kills drive.
It kills hope.
It kills a desire to change.
It kills everything good in a human being.
I
Hate
Law.
In the past when I have read in the word where it said "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh" I always saw where the pure law is always manipulated by man. If a man lives by the spirit then the law is not necessary because living by the spirit (of the law even) will cause one to fulfill the law but the law itself only drives people to circumvent the law.
But, today, I see another thing as well.
Those who are in power and love law will always, given time, use that law to brow beat people.
They will use that law to steal.
They will use that law to kill.
They will use that law to destroy.
They will use that law to fulfill the desire of their father... the devil.
I
Hate
Law
And I despise strongly those who use it in a manner that is not in keeping with the spirit and intent of that law.
I love God's law.... don't get me wrong. But I hate when law is ripped from the nature of the God who put it in our lives and used a pole to beat people with.
That might be at church.
That might be at school.
That might be by a cop.
That might be by a parent.
To all those who operate as unfeeling, unmerciful and hateful wielders of the law against your fellow man... May God reward you according to your works.

Law exercised without the necessary balance of mercy should be met with quick reaction by the people.
Law knows no mercy these days.
Law is about making sure you get yours... law isn't about bringing change. Law isn't about making a difference in your life.
Law is about appeasing the (largely Christian) masses who revel in nothing more than see you get yours.
Today law is written beyond the ability of mercy to intervene
Today the spirit of the law is missing because law has no spirit but these... hatred, malice, anger... recognize those?

Im glad you hate law....the law is a school master to lead us to Christ. I thank God I am not bound by the law of carnal ordinances..to many to remember, to many to keep

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
It isn't the law that is evil. It is the men that administer the law. The men that we have had a say in putting in power and for so many years we haven't cared. Now that their rule has become unbearable we want a say. You can change it, we still have that power. Find out when your board elections are, who is up for reelection and get them out. Find a good man and help get him in place and support him once he is there. Complaining will get you no where, but action will get you where you want to go.

Technically, the law is a problem only because mankind has sin. However, Paul said the law was commendable, because no one would know what sin was without the law. But the problem was that man was sinful.
Romans 7:7 KJV What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Romans 7:12-14 KJV Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. (13) Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. (14) For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Why would we hate something good? It is actually sin in our flesh that we should hate.
If we had no sin, law would be easy and wonderful to deal with. But what the Law could not do because of sin in our flesh, God did! And what law was intended to accomplish, grace accomplished.
Romans 8:3-4 KJV For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
1 Timothy 1:5 KJV Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
1 Timothy 1:14 KJV And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
And I think that is what the author of this thread meant when he said, "I love God's law.... don't get me wrong. But I hate when law is ripped from the nature of the God who put it in our lives and used a pole to beat people with."
Amen!
