Jim and Casper go to Church

Anyone else read this? I finished it this morning. It was a very entertaining and informative read.

Basically, the book details a minister hiring an atheist to go with him to 12 churches and critique them for him, as an outsider looking in.

It gives a decent idea of what a visitor might be feeling as they sit through a service. It also shows how people from two totally different backgrounds and belief systems can have a good dialog about Jesus, and can become close friends.

Bummer! Wish I'd gotten hired for this job. I could do a lot of the fill in without doing any more visiting than I already have. Perks of being an odd ball no matter where I land..I tend to land in a lot of different places. /tic

I'll be honest, I did think of a few AFF posters that would have been perfect for this job, lol.

All in all, it is a good read. It probably won't enlighten many to what they already did not know, but it was nice seeing how "outsiders" view things we take for granted.

One instance was a song sung in a church where they talked about the blood of Christ a lot. Casper thought it was off-putting that they put so much emphasis on the blood. He thought aloud that if Muslims said as much about blood, Christians would look at the oddly.

Lol, see, every thread is secretly about MUSLIMS! LOL LOL
