Re: Internet Sales Tax Passes - Senate Vote Count
This is about major corporations trying to destroy the ma and pa internet businesses and using the federal government to do it. This is none of the federal government's business. This is corporatism or known in the old days as fascism...

No it's not. It's about Government collecting more taxes. Big corporations do as much business on the Internet as ma and pa

Listen to Ted Cruz address the issue. It hurts the small business owner more, Prax. They would have to collect sales tax, nationwide, for around 9,600 tax jurisdictions. They should only have to collect for ONE state. Not only that, but be subjected to the same regulations as multi-million dollar business who have warehouses. Don't tell me the bill is not onerous for them.

Whether it hurts them or not is not why this was passed. It was passed to grab MORE tax dollars.

Duh! The argument was that it hurts the Small Business as well. That is the point of this thread. Hello!

Couldn't agree with you more. Sadly, once the government sees the potential for additional taxation it usually comes sooner or later.
The internet sales tax will be an accounting nightmare.

Sooner or later is still part of the package. If we are going to change anything, let's lay out the WHOLE package. That is what Ted Cruz was doing in the video.
