Question about Amish...

Does anyone know if the Amish forge all their own metals? Tools? Nails? Their wagons?

Dumb question I know. Just curious

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Question about Amish...

They use what costs them less! Meaning if they can buy similar quality for the same price as making it - they will.

Yes. If it's not so modern that it conflicts with their "Ordnung" (Church Order).

Re: Question about Amish...

When I was Indiana, I saw an Amish man working in Walmart, maybe they get some their supplies at Walmart.

Everyone else do.

Not all Amish are the same. Therefore, not all Amish do the same things.

That's for sure!

(BTW, I've read that this show is 100% fictional, or nearly 100%, though it is passed off as a true-life documentary, using actors and re-enactments. Seems to be a shameless exploitation of the Amish, and a huge misrepresentation. Discovery Channel. Pfft.)

The guys are all ex Amish or Mennonite, therefore they speak the "Penn Dutch" German, film it in Amish communities, and use some real-life "re-enactments".

I am gonna say it's about 25% legit!
