Re: Loose. Lose.

Altar. Alter. The alter is a noun, like the bench people kneel and pray at.
Alter is a verb. It means change.

The altar may alter you. A before E.

But I still have to think about lose and loose, because of the sound variation in chose and choose. English is very confusing as a language.
Lose rhymes with choose
Loose rhymes with caboose.
Chose and lose don't sound anything alike. Now how does that make sense?

And I have trouble when typing its and it's. It's is a contraction of it is. I catch myself dropping the apostrophe daily.

Re: Grammar!

incidents .... incidence

People confuse these two words and often pluralize 'incidents' resulting in 'incidentses'.

incidences: yes

incidentses: no!
