This is true and why it always cracks me up when men go on about women dressing to attract men or whatever. For the most part women don't care what you think, they're wanting to get the rave reviews from their women friends.

Makeup makes a woman looks like she's on steroids?

Re: Adornment!!

I was always taught growing up in a OP church that makeup changed your outward appearance and was unnatural. We were allowed to wear clear nail polish, but nothing more. I never understood the difference between "clear" nail polish and a colored one. And you will see tons of OP women wearing French manicured nails, but you'll nary see a one with any other color on their nails except clear.

Seems to me that they have become so caught up in the rules, and tradition that all clear sense of reasoning has just vanished. Nail polish color shouldn't make a difference ??? But it does.

I've never heard anyone preach against deodorant, or even perfume, but yes, perfume could definitely be considered seductive. Never really thought about that one before.

But again, the OP churches are consumed more with the outward appearance more than anything else anyway, and so perfume to them is not really an issue. After all - you can't see it....

I just think that the reality is not any where near what the scientific research might have you think.
I think he said back in the day make-up companies or manufacturers believed this.

NO! lol I meant that the effects that nature normally has on her face are magnified when aroused are exaggerated by make-up. It's like nature on steroids in affecting her face. "ON STEROIDS" is am urban expression to indicate something is exaggerated far far beyond the norm, and not implying the actual drug is involved.

I do think women look more attractive with some make-up. Many look attractive without make-up, but they are the really good-looking women. Unfortunately, there are very, very many who are not really good-looking. Ce la vie.

As far as the subliminal cues that makeup is said to give off, I don't doubt that they are there but just so minor as to be a non-issue.

And yes, pretty girls attract men period. The thing with UPC girls is that the pretty ones rely on youth.... Once they get about 30+ they start looking like my grandma did at age 50. Even more pronounced if they have a half dozen kids under their belt by then.

I had 9 pregnancy's by the time I was 35, and six surviving children. I can assure you I did not look like a grandma. I have never claimed to be pretty, cute maybe, but neither was I ugly with or without make-up. I will say what ages women more is smoking, partying, etc. Then they need make-up to cover the dark circles and bags under their eyes, and wrinkles.
