I think it's a wonderful idea and a great opportunity to bring the Gospel in a context not done too often these days.
I couldn't say the same if they were meeting in a strip club, night club, etc... But this venue is almost... perfect.

Well Pubs in DC aren't exactly radical places for the most part. Usually more suits than anything. There was one over by the ACLJ that had 25 cent wings on Tuesdays...woohoo

Sounds interesting. I've never been... do they card people on their way through the door, or is it more like a very upscale Applebee's--except with much better food and ambiance?

A pub, especially depending where you live, are like coffee houses and cafes: places where people meet, socialize, have a meal, a brew, etc... Not sure the rest of that follows in all situations (half-naked women and drunks). I know what you mean. We have several "Pub / Brewery / Restaurants" in our area that are just like eating at a Chilis, Applebees, or any other restaurant serving alcohol.
However a lot of true pubs are 98% for drinking and serve very limited menus of food. Usually not very good and they are not considered places to eat as much as places to drink. That is what I was thinking about when I posted.

Even those places are meeting centers. In the Northeast, Northwest, etc it's very common for people to talk theology over a beer. These aren't drunkards. It's very cultural. CC1, I think there are some misconceptions about the people who attend bars (like that they are all getting drunks). Most assuredly, there will be some there getting drunk or acting like drunkards. But that's usually pretty controlled, and more apt for post-happy hour, late-night stuff than prime-time, or afternoon meet and chat environment.
