What do you think?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Pub Night Event
I see nothing wrong with it. A church can meet, discuss Scripture, in the presence of the lost. Surely, it will generate some very interesting conversations. Meeting in a pub isn't that much different from meeting in Applebee's where the bar is open.
I've often met with fellow believers in resturants, coffee shops, etc. Often people in the establishment over hear the conversation and occasionally they will chime in and join the conversation. It's amazing how God moves when we get Him out of our RELIGIOUS box.
Jeeesh.

Re: Pub Night Event
"At this month's pub night we'll take our topic from our Friday afternoon luncheon series on the Hill, Christianity and Politics 101. We'll introduce the concept of the Christian's dual citizenship in the two kingdoms, and discuss its practical ramifications for public policy.
Pub Night is all about discussing interesting topics of the Christian faith with friends, in a relaxed social setting. It is open to all and you are strongly encouraged to bring a friend from outside our immediate circle who has an interesting perspective to share."

Naw. To me going to a strip club is like going to Dairy Queen and just looking at banana splits.

That's funny. My wife wouldn't mind if I was at DQ looking at banana splits though...

Re: Pub Night Event
I think they are meeting there to drink and discuss politics and religion.
