Were the Happy Goodman's Saved?
Well, for starters, were the males all circumcised?

The funny thing is I really didn't like Southern Gospel music when I was a young man and into music but after she died I was watching a Gaither video honoring the Goodman's music and found myself extremely blessed and moved by the powerful songs they sang.

Had the same experience. Inherited a library of Homecoming videos, from a friend of the family, watching them now is different. They are great folks that have given their lives to lift up Jesus, our special needs son love them and can sing right along with most of them. Flawed? Yes! And aren't we all.

The UPCI songbook I'm looking at right now has many songs written/composed by
those who would not be acceptable to the elite.

Re: Were the Happy Goodman's Saved?
"Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking under the power and influence of the [Holy] Spirit of God can [ever] say, Jesus be cursed! And no one can [really] say, Jesus is [my] Lord, except by and under the power and influence of the Holy Spirit." { 1Corinthians 12:3 AMP}
I think before we start sending people to Hell over not following a three step plan that only came to prominence in the early 1900s, we should check scripture and see if their fruit is in accord. Too many want to send trinitarians to Hell, yet most Oneness have just as much confusion as they do in so many areas. Before we try to snatch the keys from the hands of Christ to open the pit, how about we take the lead from scripture, examine ourselves to see if we are truly in the faith.

But if the Goodman's didn't experience your view of Salvation, then please stop using their music.
Just something that drives me crazy.

It's just music, using someone elses lyrics means just that. Nothing more.

Now that is a good one. I'm impressed.

Please share. An parallel would include one that was never saved ( like the Trinnie) but had anointing.

Re: Were the Happy Goodman's Saved?
This isn't just limited to the Goodmans folks, it's much larger than that. It's not possible, apparently, to find where anyone was saved in the centuries immediately preceding the last century, specifically pre-1913. Who preached the true salvation gospel in the 1800's and where was the powerful and anointed church of the Living God during that century? Can't be found, unfortunately. Same for the 1700's. And the 1600's....ect....ect.
Go to your local 'Apostolic church' and research the history. Find when it was founded. Most likely, in the 1930-1950 period. You'll hit a brick wall at 1913 though.
So, were the Goodmans saved by following the true plan of salvation the 'Apostolics' preach? Where was that true plan of salvation in the 1800's. Where was the visible, viable, soul winning, powerful church of the Living God? It can't be found, can it...until it sloooowwwlllyyyyyy emerges in the 1920's and 1930's.
