Knew people that did that, too. Preached that it was required. You couldn't be saved unless you greeted the brethren with a kiss.

I am FOR repentance!
I am FOR baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus!
I am FOR the infilling of the Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking in other tongues!
I am FOR living a separated life and I am FOR following the principles of holiness!
So there is plenty I'm for!

Are you for greeting each other with a kiss?

You're comparing a local cultural custom with a directive given to the church concerning their appearance and the need to clothe themselves in a way that is pleasing to God?

Thank you! Yes it was a cultural custom. How do we know when the bible is speaking of something that was cultural and something that is an absolute command of God regardless of the time?

Well, if you research the traditions of those cultures that extend even to today, greeting one another with a kiss was something common. But telling people how to dress in order to not draw attention to themselves was not a local cultural tradition.

Exactly. And if you research the whole braided hair issue you will also find it was a cultural issue too. Not mere simple braids. It was not braiding hair. It was hair woven in elaborate braids with gold and other precious metals or gems.
Same is true with other issues. Was it a cultural thing then for women to not teach?
