Re: Christian people listening to secular music
Ill admit that I did broad brush it with my opening post . There is some kids songs that we all have sang to our kids but in general as teen and adult Christians I don’t think that we need to bee listening to secular music for our entertainment . Like some of these other post have said, music is powerful thing.

I have never heard that song. I teach if its a song that you can’t worship or up lift God with then it doesn’t need to be listened to. I think God created music for his entertainment and I don’t want to make him jealous

I don't know about you, but I would hate for every song to be about me. Maybe God is that way too?

Re: Christian people listening to secular music
"What type of music do you normally listen to?"
"Oh, I listen to BOTH types. Worship AND praise!"

But doesn't even God celebrate his marvelous creation? What about the songs of nature, family, love, honor and sacrifice? They too can lift up the Lord.

For that matter what about music that has a darker edge (but not necessarily celebrating darkness). For instance, I just listened to Garth Brooks Thunder Rolls. A very somber piece about an extra-marital affair.
