You should check your spirit, brother. Throughout this entire thread you are constantly trying to attach derogatory labels to every viewpoint that opposes your own. So it's quite apparent that simply 'loving Jesus' doesn't do anything for you. You have to actually be loving the REAL Jesus, not some made-up Jesus that is a scarecrow concoction of all your personal beliefs about Jesus. You have to find the real Jesus and be like Him.

But how do you do that? By loving Truth above all else. When you love Truth above all else, you will find Jesus.

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through me."

I don't want to let myself be at ease just because I feel that I love Jesus. What if I'm loving a false Jesus?

The problem with trying to pigeonhole everything and instantly discard it is that you will inevitably throw some truth away. Narrow is the path that leads to eternal life. Don't you think we should be constantly seeking for truth, just to be sure we are really on that narrow path? It wouldn't take much error to stray from a narrow path. And where do you think these Labels come from? They come from other men. Just because you smell a whiff of what you believe to be 'reformed' or 'emergent' or 'OSAS' or whatever doesn't mean what is being told to you is wrong. You should seek out the truth in what is being told to you rather than discard it whole cloth simply because some other man told you if it even slightly resembles his definition of 'reformed' or 'emergent' or 'OSAS' it should be thrown out.

Mike again who in you years have you studied from a apologetic standpoint directly on this issue. I like sources as I read both sides of the argument. Also many other studies give side or indirect impressions of thought to it whether you want to acknowlege it or not.

Whether you agree with reformed on everything or not is not the issue. I am talking about a specific s of issues. Well gotta go. Oh and by the way the thing you disagreed on is what w agree on in many aspects.

Dude, you don't have to study any reformed doctrine or any book to understand the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It's spelled out in the bible.

The preaching of the cross is the power of God unto salvation. Jesus saves, we yield ourselves to him for the sanctification of our body, soul, and spirit. Not that we add an ounce to our salvation, Jesus does all the saving.

If you think you can add a single ounce to the work of Christ, I'd be really scared, for you'd be insinuating that the blood of Jesus is not sufficient.

Again, let's just cut to the chase. It's easy for people to discuss doctrine, but when the rubber meets the road, it's a different ball game...

For Luke and MTD, what makes you sure you are gonna be in heaven?

Please tell us.

Since, we are "OSAS", "reformed doctrine", and all other sorts, would you please grace us with your knowledge so we can know how to get to heaven?

Bro., get away from man's writings. You refer us to books, pigeon-hole beliefs with some movement you are aware of, and do not seem to go directly to God and the Bible for these things. That is why people will reject anything they do not already agree with, since there is no concept of letting the Lord lead a person. They stand on the vein of theology they were taught and never divert away from it due to some sort of loyalty issue, not realizing God wants to lead us by His Spirit into the Word to better understand it just as the Word was first inspired by that same Spirit!

Why ask WHOSE BOOKS do we read? Are you saying you get all your beliefs from men's books? Phew! Is there no room for the Spirit leading one's personal studies? If we disagree with your theology does that mean we must have read a bad book?

Hey, guys, let's lighten up on Luke. He's just passionate. We've all kinda labeled each other one way or another. We disagree about what is perhaps one of the most difficult subjects (perhaps the central subject) of the Bible. It's okay. I know Luke called me OSAS and Reformed and stuff. I let him know that the labels don't actually fit, though I do agree with some of the points in these theologies (not all). But I love Luke. He's debated me on other issues and is a good guy. I know you all agree. I just want to bring this thread up a notch in our interraction.
