What is "the prayer of faith"
The bible says if there is sickness, you should call for the elders of the church to annoint you with oil and pray "the prayer of faith".
In my background (more "denominational" you would say), praying for someone meant intervening with God for their needs (in words) - as specifically as possible.
When folks come the altar for healing at our apostolic church, they raise their hands and the elders come over, annoint them, lay hands on them, and scream at the top of their lungs. Some scream words, or "jesus", or speak in tongues, but several just scream (like a horror movie or something).
Forgive my ignorance of Apostolic tradition, but where in the bible does this constitute praying?
What is the "prayer of faith?"
Thanks!
