Re: What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Wow! I REALLY was raised in a liberal UPC. We went to the rodeo, fair, circus, bowling, ice shows, etc. etc. We could wear pants if we wanted to and most of the women cut their hair. This was in the 60's and 70's! Nearly every woman wore jewelry of some sort--pins, necklaces, etc.
Then I went to Bible college in the DEEP south, and I entered the Valley of Confusion.

Really? I always heard the exact opposite. "Just imagine how big the church would be if we all had large families!" was the mantra.

Not any more! Take it from me - more than three is a major anomaly.

Oh, ... one preacher I knew taught against breastfeeding, said it was unnatural, and all women should bottle feed their babies??? I never ever understood that one at all!

Where I work we have a medi-spa... hard to believe how many women who will not wear cover girl foundation will get botox, lip injections, laser peels, etc.
I am also amazed that probably 10% of the adults have had lap-band or gastric bypass, it is hugely popular.
I'd never heard the 'no breast-feeding'. Woza, that's nuts!
I did think of one more... Our old church did not have drums, they were not allowed. And any music without a distinct southern gospel twang was not godly.

You do realize Sherri, that us real Apostolics in Illinois, had a feild day talking about how carnal your church was.

Re: What Must I Do To Be Saved?
I had a pastor who thought it to be "sacrilege" if the kids went to the skating rink to skate to christian music. He expressively forbade it.
