This coming May we head out for our longest vacation ever, three weeks. Part of it is a 15 night Transatlantic cruise from Miami to Rome stopping along the way at the Canary Islands off Africa then the island of Mallorca, Barcelona Spain, Nice France, Florence Italy, and final ending in Rome where we will spend four nights before flying home. On this trip I will experience the shore excursions a lot.
Florence is my favorite city I've ever been to. You will love it!!! Very romantic.

Yes, the service right after ours includes "gospel hula".

"Since February 8, 1970, the Waikiki Beach Chaplaincy (a Christian evangelistic outreach) has conducted Sunday services on the beach, adjacent to the Hilton Hawaiian Village for whomsoever would come. Frequently referred to as "The Church that is inside out," this uniquely Hawaiian interdenominational service, Church On The Beach @ Waikiki, is held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Hawaiian born and reared, Chaplain Alex McAngus, celebrates the Good News of mercy and grace in this scenic, come as you are Oceanside Service, complemented with a blend of singers, musicians, sign and gospel hula."

When I was a teenager I spent a couple of days there and loved it. I am looking forward to showing it to my wife even if it is just one day.

This trip only seeing Florence and Rome in Italy. I would love to show her Venice and the Isle of Capri which I loved. I actually bought a music box in Capri when I was a teenager with the thought I would give it to the woman I married and sure enough over 30 years later it is sitting on my wife's dresser as I type this.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Ah. Those were probably the real thing. (Or more real, at least.) I was wondering if the Luau's Mai Tais were any good. Typically, they're passable for washing the food down.

Re: Hawaii

Maui is awesome! Went this summer and stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani. It's in a upscale part of the island called Wailea. It is awesome!!!!! Nicest resort I've ever stayed at and the beach there (Polo beach) is great as well!
