I do think it's a great question.

And my answer is... I think that the holy ghost continues to abide in us unless we actually make the decision to turn away from God. I believe that he is there though all our struggles and was actually given to us to help us through our struggles. To me it makes no sense that at the times you need him most he'd leave.
