Wow! I can't imagine. We have had an empty nest off and on the last few years. Right now my oldest son has his own apartment but spends about half his nights here at home - LOL!!!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

Re: I am going to be a FIL again!

Congratulations CC1.

I have one married and one in college. Sort of a half empty nest.

Re: I am going to be a FIL again!

congrats my friend!

Wedding Toast
Richard Wilbur

St. John tells how, at Cana’s wedding feast,
The water-pots poured wine in such amount
That by his sober count
There were a hundred gallons at the least.
It made no earthly sense, unless to show
How whatsoever love elects to bless
Brims to a sweet excess
That can without depletion overflow.
Which is to say that what love sees is true;
That this world’s fullness is not made but found.
Life hungers to abound
And pour its plenty out for such as you.
Now, if your loves will lend an ear to mine,
I toast you both, good son and dear new daughter.
May you not lack for water,
And may that water smack of Cana’s wine.

Re: I am going to be a FIL again!

No wedding date set yet but it will be an outdoor wedding this summer at the golf course that the bride's father owns. A very nice club house for the reception!

The bride's family has offered us the use of two "cottages" on the property to house our family during the festivities. When we checked to see how many rooms there were in these "cottages" found out each one has four bedrooms! One man's cottage is another man's big house! LOL

While the rest of us are sitting on a quiet beach in Tahiti, you're going to be riding the Teacups at Disney one more time.

Or worse yet going through the "Its a small world after all" ride again! When my daughter was five we went to Disneyland and on the last day asked her what she wanted to do the most again and it was the small world ride. I thought my ears would start bleeding if I heard that stupid song one more time.

Horror writer Clive Barker was asked what scared HIM the most and his immediate answer was the "It's a Small World" ride at Disney.

Hey, if they need money, maybe they'll ask him instead of you!
