I would be interested in knowing more about the pure Christianity in Liberia. Or anywhere for that matter.
I am very surprised I've never heard of your pastor, but I thank God for his efforts.

I know many sincere, dedicated, and well-equipped men and women who are spreading the pure gospel in Liberia and now into surrounding nations like Guinea where we have been unable to penetrate before. What people have been able to endure with the civil war and still remain faithful to God is incredible.
I'm not sure any of us would be able to come through some of what they've come through and still be able to love and trust God and others.
There were certainly things about the war that made Liberia a terrible place to be, but prior to that it was a great place and a bedrock for the Apostolic movement in Africa as a whole. That is one of the big tragedies.
Things are slowly returning to normal and the church there is having great revival.

Re: Sick in Zimbabwe turn to faith healers

My father knew Bro. Don Ikerd who was a missionary for many years to the nation of Liberia. I know that we also met others who were in Kenya and other places. Sadly I do not remember all of the names as I was only a child or teenager and the years have replalced my memory with other things. I know that I have seen them from Spain, Russia, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Eastern Europe, Bolivia, Ecuador, to name the ones that I can remember. Some of the ones that I still remember best were the Nix family and Bro. and Sis. Burgess.

I think Stew is very well qualified for this thread if there is a question regarding the Liberian church. His family has lived through some amazing experiences in Africa.

I am from Nigeria (West Africa)...Just like in the USA, there's all sorts of Christians...

There are catholics, baptists, etc
There are oneness (largely due to William Branham's ministry)

And there are those that mix "spiritualism" with "Christianity"

But there is definitely pure gospel...
