Yeah I'm not trying to run bioshock with it. It is however advertised as a budget-friendly gaming system.

Re: Picking Up A New Computer Tomorrow

The reason I am a Mac person is:

Before I retired from GE on March 1, 1959 I used a computer in my work. We were on whatever the latest Windows system was at the time. I could do enough to do my job but was not very adept with it.

During Thanksgiving dinner 2000 one of my sons asked me if I missed GE. I told him the only thing I missed about GE was the emails and jokes. That year for Christmas he gave me an iMac. Well, since I was not very computer savvy and this was a whole new system I bought a book called "The iMac for Dummies" and started out on page 1. I went page by page until I got far enough that I could do some emails, word processing, internet searching, etc and closed the book. I've pretty much remained there.

I joined an online Mac Users Group called CMUG (Christian Mac Users Group) and that helped me with some questions as they came up. I also joined a local Mac Users Group called AppleSiders in March 2001. Their web site is http://www.applesiders.org/Home.html I still belong to that group and have learned a few things. I dropped out of the online Mac Users Group to cut down on emails received. If you are interested I think it is still active and you can find out about them at
http://macministry.org/Site/Mac_Ministry.html

My original iMac was retired a few years ago. I currently have 2 old (close to obsolete) Macs which I use.

My laptop is a 800 MHz iBook G4, purchased 2/6/2004
640 MB Memory
30 GB Hard Drive
OS 10.4.11 Tiger

My desktop is a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac,
purchased 11/8/2007
4 GB Memory
300 GB Hard Drive
OS 10.7.4 Lion

I bought mine in 2009 and just recently added up to 8 GB of memory. Being on dialup, it really slows down when memory is low. And the updates are necessary if you want your mac to run properly. Everytime Apple puts out a new OS, my son must get it the day it comes out.

By the time this one goes kaput, I hope to have enough money already saved up for another one.

Nah That was too expensive. I'm running Windows 98 SE.

As much of an AMD fan I am, when it comes to laptops I only go Intel. Their Mobile CPUs are better/faster but more expensive
