God was glorified in Paul's "weakness".

It pleased the Father to bruise, torture, and not deliver His Son. It pleased the Father that the Son die.

We know that the story didn't end there for Jesus just as we know that death is not the end for anyone, saved or unsaved.

Sometimes, Our Father says, "No"-- which would count as a denial.

Re: Does the Lord deny anybody being healed??

I think it's pretty obvious that not everybody gets healed. As a matter of fact, it would seem to be the exception.

Don't have a quote Dordt, but it seems obvious
that if it serves God's purpose better for one not to be healed,
then they are not healed. We pray "Your will be done,"
and although God's ways are mysterious, examples
of suffering producing fruit are not opaque to us.

It seems you are just guessing.
But I'm glad my pastor does not preach what you posted here.

we don't really know what Paul's "thorn in the flesh" was.
we are just told that it was "the angel/messenger of satan..." (2 Corinthians 12:7)

The Scofield Bible note about the "thorn" says:
It has been conjectured that Paul's "thorn in the flesh" was chronic ophthalmia, inducing bodily weakness, and a repulsive appearance Galatians 4:15 ; 1 Corinthians 2:3 1 Corinthians 2:4 ; 2 Corinthians 10:10 . This cannot be positively known, and the reserve of Scripture is as sure a mark of inspiration as its revelations. Paul's particular "thorn" is not described that his consolations may avail for all to who any thorn is given.

P.S. Did y'all know the Scofield notes are available online at

Re: Does the Lord deny anybody being healed??

Often it is God's will NOT to heal -not because He is being spiteful, but because He has very good reasons for it. Just imagine the world of hurt we would be in if God had listened to His Son's cry to "take this cup from me".
