And unfortunately, that bill is paid by the people, in this life.

Brother... all false religions are of the world. Islam denies the very deity of Jesus. Therefore, they are of the world, given the right circumstances, the world will love them. We (Christians) are not of the world. That is why the world will never truly be our friends.

What are you talking about??? My point was that getting involved in the porn business is a choice. Addicted to drugs or not... sadly... they choose to get involved.

I am talking about the MAKERS of porn. Most of those women are likely on drugs.

I'd not be suprised if a larger percentage are. But then again... so was the writer of the Wizard of Oz.

You're position is open ended. I was simply putting bounderies on it. Yes, it's moral to protect life, liberty, and property. However, governments power should end with life, liberty, and property. It's power to legislate morality shouldn't extend into being able to legislate against women's pants, makeup, and other specific religious dogmas. In some forms of liberal Christianity, erotic entertainment isn't viewed as a sin. Is the "government" now going to legislate AGAINST a religious interpretation that may not be historical? Oh... if so... why not deny Oneness churches tax exempt status because the Oneness doctrine is a historical heresy???
My point is simple... the government should protect life, liberty, and property. Not ever increasingly policing what law abiding citizens are watching in private.

It is not like mob rule. This is not about free speech, or weak Christians. It is about letting a business know that they would prefer they not provide the smut in their rooms. Giving businesses incentives to do what is right is not mob rule.
|
That's the most loaded big of garbage EVER. You know, Muslims believe pork is an abomination. Maybe they should use their mob tactics to give Bob Evan's incentive to "do what is right" and stop serving sauage, bacon, and sausage gravy!!!
The point is... "what is right"... is all subjective. I like my sausage gravy at Bob Evan's and I'd be highly insulted if they tried to pressure Bob Evan's to stop selling it. Selling sausage doesn't endanger another's life, liberty, or property. Selling Playboy doesn't endanger another's life, liberty, or property.

Will they be successful? Doubtful. There is too much profit in it. The only way it will be successful is when it costs them more than they make.
|
And that's far better than allowing a bunch of religionists tell a business what to do in a free country. I respect the belief that one shouldn't endulge in those things. However, I believe in personal responsibility. It's not the job of a business to see to it that I only watch what is moral. It's their job to provide me hospitality and privacy at a decent price.

Re: Christians and Muslims Unite against porn
Look out Bob Evan's.... the Seventh Day Christians and the Muslims are coming... to pressure you into denying us the abomination of sausage!!! ROFL
Give me a freakin' break. This is one reason why I'm getting sick of Christianity. It's all about trying to make others do what you want.
I have a novel idea... why not love others... regardless of how they live... and believers take personal responsibility and strive to live a Christ centered life??? That doesn't take protests... that doesnt take energy to apply social pressure to another... it doesn't take money... nor does it take you and make you look like a religious fanatic trying to force theocracy down everyone's throat.

When you juxtapose these two posts, things possibly become a bit clearer. "Islam denies..." amounts to some words, if they end up being the son who first said "no," but then went and worked in the vineyard anyway. Anyone with eyes can see who is generally more "of the world," and I would let reality guide me there.
Are there "bad Muslims?" Lol, and trust that they are going to be relentlessly presented to you as evil. The Qur'an advises that one follow Christ, or die; the Bible tells us that "Ishmael was blessed of God." None of this matters, of course, to a mind that is closed.

Very well said. Our fleshly efforts to change society are an exercise in wasting precious time and energy.
What fruit comes of all this social protesting and catering to the political strategies of the world? Since we have Christ in us, we can take personal responsibility. I think God would do more for us and show His hand of deliverance if we honestly relied on Him. God is stronger than Pharoah, Nimrod and his mother/wife, Jezebel, Pontius Pilate, all of the caesars and world emporers and Satan himself. So surely He knows the hearts of the people in the governmental positions in this and all the other nations of the world and He will not let us go through more than we can bear. However, if we want to do things our own way, we limit his grace and then we get what we get.
