In Luke 19:37-40 at His triumphal entry into Jerusalem when He was asked to quiet down the exuberant praise of His disciples, Jesus said that if they held their peace even the rocks would cry out.

In the late 1800's and early 1900's God poured our His Spirit in a fresh new way upon the Church. Not all in the Church accepted it. Those who did soon degenerated into organizations/denominations and proudly considered themselves to be spiritually better than those who did not go with the flow. In the late 1940's when the "Pentecostal" churches had become pretty formal God moved in what we now call "the Healing Revival" and in "the Latter Rain"and the FGBMFI, which were often outside of the denominations/organizations (Pentecostal and non-Pentecostal). Then in the 1960's came the Charismatic movement and the Jesus People. Again, God bypassed our organizational structure and poured out His Spirit upon those who hungered and thirsted after Him. Since then we have the Vineyard Movement, Calvary Chapel, Willow Creek, etc. which are outside the organizational structure. As these groups consolidate and become ingrown, God continues to draw people to Himself.

I was part of the UPC and ALJC during the Charismatic movement and the Jesus People. We could not understand how those people were being blessed and receiving the Holy Ghost Baptism and the gifts, anointing, and power of God when they did not look like us, did not believe like us, and did not come to us to receive. We thought we Apostolic/Pentecostals had an exclusive franchise on the Holy Spirit.
Everyone has their own ideas about the "maturity" of the pentecostal movement. What exactly does it mean that the Pentecostal movement isn't "mature"? Who's to say we're not already "mature"? Would God leave his bride or are two covenants, one purchased by Christ's own blood, enough? You do realize that's what those verses amount to in their actual context right? God leaving the church he purchased with his blood and making a new covenant (because those verses speak of God rejecting the Jews and establishing a new covenant with man in which gentiles would enter the fold through grace). So are you suggesting that there's a New New Testament coming? It's an interesting quote from a man who already had weird ideas regarding his being a prophet of God and his church being the right/only church anyway. Just my thoughts.

From what I understand, he prophesied that part of the California coast would fall into the ocean. I don't know when he prophesied it or when it was going to happen. I'm sure all his stuff was recorded and someone could find this information. Obviously it hasn't happened yet (at the time I'm typing this).

Re: William Branham Quote

I am by no means a follower of Branham. Yet it seems he preached more truth than many Preachers today. If people judged modern Preachers the way they do Branham they would soon find themselves listening to none of them. Matter of fact I cant think of one famous Preacher today I can listen to.

Then don't. Once I find out someone is a liar, I'm pretty much done... and once their 'predictions' don't come true I think everyone else with a functioning brain ought to be also. That pretty much did in the Adventists for me although they have a lot of other doctrine I liked. Really, everyone, even fringe groups like the JW's have SOMETHING right. I've read some brilliant articles in The Watchtower when bored in doctors waiting rooms. However, I wouldn't consider letting them guide my religious beliefs or even quoting them on a message board where it might look like I support them in some way. f feel the same way about Branham. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, but so what?

The thing is, tho, the alternative seems to be searching for a temporal Christ, a perfect human to learn under, and this just doesn't seem right to me. I have yet to find them--and it seems God chooses to work with the imperfect?

Can't say I really get it, either, but at least it gives one a healthy attitude, I think, toward any earthly messenger. Test everything, imo, and just ignore what does not produce fruit. LA will sooner become a mountain than fall into the ocean--that is..."impossible," as the plate is being pushed east and up by the Pac plate.

Um, it can be easy to assume "liar,"
when we are all deceived, in some manner?

Maybe this guy should have explained what "bypass" means in his eyes.
